Exclamation iconSystem maintenance (downtime) on Monday, October 5

Please be advised that the Center for High Performance Computing (CHPC) will be undergoing a system-wide downtime on Monday, October 5, starting at 8:00 a.m. MDT. This maintenance will impact the General Environment clusters (granite, notchpeak, kingspeak, and lonepeak), Protected Environment cluster (redwood), standalone servers, and virtual machines. The sys branch and app repo in the GE and PE may be affected. If you or your research group has a website on www.misc or www.cgi, you may also be impacted.

We are performing this downtime to apply critical security patches addressing multiple vulnerabilities (CVEs). Protecting your user data and research is our highest priority, making these updates essential to maintaining a secure environment for everyone.

As with every OS update-related downtime, we are aiming to be done by the end of the workday, but unexpected complications tied to updates sometimes arise. We will provide regular progress updates on our status page, https://uofu-chpc.instatus.com/. We encourage you to subscribe to alerts on the status page for updates.

We truly value you and your work, and we recognize that unexpected downtimes like this are very difficult to plan around. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to keep research computing systems and research data at the university safe.
