SLURM Training

SLURM is a scalable open-source scheduler used on a number of world class clusters. In an effort to align CHPC with XSEDE and other national computing resources, CHPC will be switching clusters from the PBS scheduler to SLURM. This course will introduce users to SLURM and provide information on required changes to their submission scripts.

We will introduce the Slurm workload manager with focus on its setup on the CHPC clusters and differences from the outgoing Torque/Moab scheduling. This will be followed by examples of typical jobs submissions and other useful commands and procedures. We encourage all HPC users to either come to this or future Slurm help sessions, or consult the CHPC Slurm help page at https://www.chpc.utah.edu/documentation/software/slurm.php
