Power Outage: 9/17/2015 from ~8 p.m. until ~ 10 p.m.

A bit after 8pm, power outage hit most of the lower campus including INSCC, WBB and Sutton buildings. According to Facilities a substation transformer failed. All non-essential CHPC equipment has been shut down, while keeping the essential hardware on backup power in order to maintain connectivity to the Downtown Data Center (which houses the majority of HPC and data servers and clusters). We will keep operating in this mode throughout the night as the power situation is not expected to be stable for a good part of the night.
